On the day of their comeback, BTS sold over 2.15 million copies of their new album ‘Proof’ as of 9:00 pm on June 10.
This is a remarkable achievement as it is close to the sales volume of 2.26 million copies in the first week of sales of their previous album ‘BE’ released in October 2020. BTS has been breaking sales records with their albums consistently. Since their second regular album ‘WINGS’ released in October 2016, which sold more than 1.13 million copies, all their album sales in the last six years have exceeded 1 million copies.
Their album ‘WINGS’ is particularly significant in the history of Korean popular music as it is the first album to sell more than 1 million copies in 16 years since the group god. BTS’s other albums such as ‘LOVE YOURSELF 承 ‘Her” and ‘MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA’ have sold over 2.21 million copies and 3.77 million copies respectively, while ‘MAP OF THE SOUL: 7’ sold over 4.17 million copies, demonstrating their immense popularity.
‘Proof’ is an anthology album that includes not only the title songs of their previous albums but also solo songs and unit songs of all seven members, as well as three new official songs, two unreleased songs, and demo versions of various hit songs.
The album is differentiated from the usual best albums, and the title song ‘Yet To Come’ is a medium-tempo alternative hip-hop song produced by Big Hit music producer Pdogg and featuring American singer MAX, BTS leader RM, and members Suga and J-Hope.
