The group’s BTS set a new record with MAP OF THE SOUL: 7′, surpassing 3.37 million sales in just one week.
According to Hanter Chart, a website that counts album sales on the 28th, BTS’s 4th album, MAP OF THE SOUL: 7, released on the 21st, recorded a total of 3,378,633 copies during the week (February 21-27).
This is the highest sales volume in the first week of the album released by BTS, exceeding 1.24 million copies of the first week sales volume of the previous week’s album MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA.
Earlier, MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 was predicted to set a new record early, starting with 4.1 million pre-orders and more than 2.56 million copies were sold on the first day of release.
As the previous album posted 339,943 sales in about two months, it was listed as the Great Sales of Korean Album by Guinness World Records in the UK, so we are looking forward to writing a new record for this album.
MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 won the 1st place in the iTunes Top Album and 91 Oricon Daily Charts in 91 countries and regions around the world shortly after the release, and the title song ‘ON’ was the 1st major music chart in Korea and the chart line Seolgi, the world’s leading music chart, including iTunes top song in 83 countries and regions.
The second music video of the title song ‘ON’ released on the 28th has exceeded 10 million views in 1 hour and 5 minutes, renewing the shortest time for Korean singers, and exceeding 20 million views in 5 hours and 10 minutes.
